Frame the opportunity.
I identified the gap, shaped the vision and requirements, secured leadership support and brought the team together around a focused brief.

I build the processes, tools and learning opportunities that help teams work efficiently, grow their capacity and strengthen their design skills.

My work spans everyday requests and complex roadmap projects. I connect priorities with practical delivery, while building resources the team can use across projects.
I use request patterns and turnaround data to refine how work enters the team: clearer request types, authorization requirements and routing between student support and specialist expertise.
Operational purposeGive the right people the information and approvals they need to move work forward.
Across Research Directory migrations, Faculty Redesign and Navigate, I translate priorities into scopes, tasks, milestones and review points. I coordinate ownership, dependencies and decisions across the people involved.
Operational purposeCreate a clear path from requirements and discovery through review, implementation and delivery.
I pitched and led a team initiative to bridge the gap between UCalgary’s published design standards and a reusable Figma resource. The team brought complementary skills to building and testing the toolkit.
Operational purposeTurn an identified tooling gap into a shared resource that supports consistent design and client review.
I create opportunities for designers and junior content specialists to develop Figma skills, practise design thinking and learn together. Templates, documentation and shared exercises help carry learning into daily work.
Operational purposeHelp more people contribute confidently and apply shared design practices.
I’m facilitating a shared framework around eight content archetypes. The team identifies high-level components, proposes information hierarchies and tests how these structures adapt to real UCalgary content, audiences and goals.
Operational purposeBuild a reusable foundation for page structure, wireframing and content decisions across projects.
DesignOps in practice / Figma toolkit
The opportunity went beyond creating a component library. It connected access to shared resources with team learning, design consistency and a more useful client review process.
I identified the gap, shaped the vision and requirements, secured leadership support and brought the team together around a focused brief.
The team used a hackathon to translate published design standards into a working Figma toolkit, then reviewed and tested the resource together.
Shared templates, documentation and training supported the move from a working resource to something colleagues could use in their projects.
My contribution was to connect the need, the people and the delivery—while the team collectively built the technical solution.
How I approach the work
Each initiative addresses an immediate need while creating something the team can carry forward: a clearer process, a reusable resource or a stronger skill.
Define the objective, requirements, owners and decisions so people understand what needs to happen and why.
Translate recurring problems and design decisions into shared tools, templates and guidance.
Involve the people doing the work in developing, testing and improving the practices they will use.
The connecting thread
I connect operational structure with design practice to help teams deliver today and build their capability for what comes next.
My focus is on making good work easier to repeat—across people, projects and an evolving digital environment.
